We released a survey to Rucking athletes to try to find the best boots for rucking. This is our first year doing this survey. In the future, we hope to get more responses in order to get a better overall picture of the top boot choices. As you read, keep in mind that different boots work for different people. The purpose of this data is to narrow down the options and give Rucking Athletes a good starting point.
Question 1: Which BRAND AND MODEL of BOOT do you PRIMARILY use for Rucking? (We understand that you may use more than one brand/model, but which is your primary? PLEASE include the Brand & Model)
Clearly GORUCK's MACV boots stole the show, with the Merrell MOAB boots, Lowa Zephyr, and Garmont NSF boots following behind. Unfortunately, some of the data we received didn't answer the question, there were about 5 people who simply wrote a brand, but no model. Other than that, all of the other brands and models listed didn't receive more than 1 vote each, so I've only listed these top 4.

Question 2: What are the TOP 3 things you consider when purchasing your boot? SELECT ONLY 3. (We understand that many things go into the choices you make, but please just go with the Top 3 most important for you.)
Comfort, Quality/Durability, and Grip/Tread were the top 3 choices. Weight came just behind Grip/Tread. Those are all super important. Anyone who has done any rucking knows how essential it is to have comfortable boots; boots that fit your feet well and feel good.
Question 3: How much money are you generally comfortable spending on a pair of boots for Rucking? (Amounts listed are in USA Dollars)
You can absolutely find good boots for just under $150; especially if you can get them on sale. However, most of the best boots that I've been recommended by regular users are more in the $150-$180 price range. In any case, people are willing to pay pretty much whatever it costs (within the market) to get a good pair of boots. If you are rucking a lot, not only will good boots take care of your feet, but they will last a long time, so a price over $200 could easily be worth the investment.
